PRESS ON -- A poem for those in bereavement

PRESS ON!
(A poem for those in bereavement.)

The storms of life may loudly roar,
And billows of sorrow around us soar;
But God does surely understand,
And He still holds us in His hand.

For His compassion is full and free,
Though we can’t really, fully see;
Yet we must trust Him more and more,
Until we reach that Distant Shore.

Press on, my friend, and don’t despair,
For we are still within His care;
The storms cannot His favor hide,
Instead, in Him we shall abide.

So, may His comfort now be near,
Ev’n though your eyes are filled with tears;
He knows, He keeps, He satisfies,
And all our hope on Him relies.

Press on, for there’s no turning back,
Of grace and strength there is no lack;
His love and peace He gladly shares,
If on Him now you place your cares.

He still loves you, there’s not a doubt,
No reason now to sit and pout!
For in the night He gives a song,
What you must do is still “Press On!”

  1. What a great word of encouragement to me, Curtis. You have reminded me of quite a few things the Lord has been teaching me lately... I do hope with all my heart that I have learned the lesson. His grace is sufficient for me, yes indeed, His grace is sufficient for me. Yours in Him, Luc
