WILL THE SAVIOR STAND BY ME?
by Curtis Dean, June 26, 2009
When “I’m growing old and feeble”, will the Savior stand by me?
When the way is hard to see, and things of life a puzzle be,
Will He care? Will He share? Will He make the shadows flee?
Yes, the Lord, the King of Glory, stands by me!
Has He led in years gone by, and heard and met our faintest cry,
Though our spirit would only sigh, we seemed to crawl instead of fly?
Be assured He sees our tears, understands our foolish fears,
And our petition, rest assured, He really hears.
Even in the darkest night, He will give a ray of light;
He will show the way to go, there’s no need for fear or fright.
Once you’ve done all things to stand, just reach out and take His hand,
For you’ve built upon the Rock, not on the sand!
Yes, He loves ev’n if we’re old, will never leave us, we’ve been told.
Our lives He simple shapes and molds, we need not fear, tho’ times seem cold.
So whate’re your lot may be, look to God and you shall see,
That by faith you, too, can say, “He stands by me!”
